Did you know? There were 22 separate billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in 2020 across the U.S., shattering the previous annual record of 16 events, which occurred in 2017 and 2011. The 22 events cost the nation a combined $95 billion in damages. The average American is not adequately prepared for a sever storm or natural disaster, despite feeling confident about the proper procedures: 25% have more that $2,000 saved for emergency funds, 20% have none; 20% don’t have adequate property insurance, 22% don’t believe a natural disaster will affect them.
